Aya Medany (EGY) - Gold medalist
On her performance:
"I've just recovered from leg injury, from surgery. [I think] toady's competition is a warm-up for the Olympic Games next year."
On her major rival Elen Rublevska (LAT) in the running:
"She was a champion, and she did very well. She is very good. The fight was good."
On expectations for 2008:
"I will be 19 years old next year. It is an uncertain dream for any pentathlete to get a medal at the Olympic Games."
Bertoli Sara (ITA) - Bronze medalist
On her performance:
"I'm very satisfied. Before I came here I had made no specific plan for this competition, and my purpose was just to enjoy the competition and prepare for the 2008 Olympic Games."
On factors leading to the bronze medal:
"I think it was riding that helped me most. It was a difficult event, but I did it well. In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with the horses, but maybe some athletes were not that professional."
On her weaknesses:
"Maybe I have some weaknesses in shooting and fencing. But fortunately, today I did well in shooting."
On the rivals:
"During the whole match, I could feel the threat from other competitors."
